inspiration boards

in a couple of months, i will be moving and i’ve got nothing but house decorating on my mind! here’s a couple of boards of stuff i’m loving right now.

i can’t wait to use my first piece of grown up furniture in my new place! i got such a great deal on this armoire at joyful furniture in boulder! i really like the red couch and the yellow walls in the second photo. love the layout of the couch – i think i need something like that! and if anyone has seen my yellow chair i bought on craigslist for $10, then you will know it needs a drastic makeover. i’m thinking something along the lines of the fabric in the bottom 2 pictures.

i love a good home office and am constantly looking for inspiration on how to make the space functional yet gorgeous. i’m thinking the office is going to be one of my favorite rooms in my new place. what a great way to display photos, inspiration and design pieces, in an old frame with chicken wire on the back. this will be one of the first projects i do. and what a great idea of displaying work on clipboards. love it – simple yet beautiful. i have to find some of those white boxes to put scraps, envelopes, pens, etc in. i’m in love with those colored glass vases. if i could keep fresh flowers around all the time, i would!

does anyone have any fun ideas for house stuff?

oh how i miss spring break; the smell of banana boat, the pina coladas and laying out for 6 days in a row. i miss boarding the plane to mexico and getting a free tecate. i miss driving to esperanza in our own personal escalade while we sipped on cervezas. most of all i miss the girl bonding on the trips and being able to go on vacation for a week and having nothing to do. oh spring break, i do miss you…oh mexico…

i’ve never really been a big fan for valentine’s day, but none the less, it is coming up this weekend. how are you celebrating? fancy night out with that special someone with champagne and chocolate or night in with the girls watching terrible chick flicks and drinking cosmo’s?

how about having a valentine’s day tea party!

  • find some vintage tea cups at your local thrift and antique stores
  • send out handmade invitations and do the calligraphy yourself
  • have your guests wear crowns and give them body butter as a parting gift
  • make yummy heart shaped treats!
  • write love letters to yourself or loved ones!
  • serve natural hibiscus tea

i know winter is almost at an end, but i went skiing this weekend and got inspired to do my board on winter activities! can’t you just see yourself having a party at this amazing aspen, colorado lodge? and designing the invitations with a vintage ski map…hmmm yes please!
